Description
View northeasterly, in the afternoon autumn sun, of the Barronvale Covered Bridge across Laurel Hill Creek in Middlecreek Township, Somerset County, PA. The bridge is said to have been built in the 1840's, using the Burr arch truss design, and is the longest covered bridge span in Somerset County. It is currently only open to foot traffic after being bypassed by adjacent State Route 3035. The Barronvale Covered Bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Beautiful photo of the Barronvale! One of my favorites in one f m favorite areas. I got a flat tire there years ago in the snow and gad to be “rescued!” I love this! I am very pleased to feature your fantastic artwork in the group ‘Covered Bridges and Historical Buildings.’ Please add it to the “2023 Second Quarter FEATURED IMAGE Collection” thread in the discussions area to record and display your image amongst the best in the group. Thank you! 5/29/23

Michael Mazaika replied:
Hi, Jerry. I really admire your work. I did find one covered bridge in Arizona - Pinedale (in Navajo County) about 200 miles north of Vail. Google Dale Travis covered bridges and you'll find more (not traditional as the one above, but interesting). - Mike
