Description
Originally built in 1881 to cross the Little Buffalo Creek in Oliver Township, Perry County, PA. The bridge was saved from destruction by Mrs. Margaret Wister Meigs who arranged for it to be dismantled, and to be moved and kept on the site of Fort Hunter outside of Harrisburg, in Dauphin County. The bridge was reconstructed (re-created) in 2006 and placed near the northeast edge of Fort Hunter Park. Image = PA Covered Bridges-Everhart Autumn 101814 292-296 E-P M C1.jpg.

Well, this caught my eye as I see it did yours. Nothing as interesting as a covered bridge! Wish we had them in California.

I am a huge admirer of covered bridges. They are a fascinating part of our country's history. Is there anything more picturesque than a covered bridge in the countryside?
Michael Mazaika replied:
I agree, Greg, and am privileged to live in a state that has so many that are well preserved. Thank you. - Mike
