Description
A line of canoes beside the former Bowmansdale Covered Bridge on the York County side of the Yellow Breeches Creek on the campus of Messiah College in Cumberland County, PA. The bridge was originally built near Bowmansdale in 1867 using the Burr arch truss design and was later acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Jacob S. Stoner, donated to Messiah College, dismantled and re-assembled by college staff and students between 1970 and 1972. Thereafter, the bridge was re-named the Stoner/Bowmansdale Covered Bridge.
