Description
View north-northwesterly of the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge from the New Hampshire side of the Connecticut River in early autumn towards the Vermont landing. Originally built in the mid-1800's by James Tasker and Bela Fletcher, this two-span bridge was the longest wooden covered bridge in the U.S. (at about 449 feet) that was still standing until the Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge in Ashtabula County, Ohio, opened in 2008. The bridge remains in service today connecting the States of Vermont and New Hampshire. Image = VT-NH Covered Bridges Cornish-Windsor-7B 092719-100119 261-265 E-D S C1 PSP.jpg.
