So many Irish gave their lives for the Civil War. My 3x great grandfather tried to enlist in the Maine Civil War Army. I am so proud that he tried, and equally as happy that he wasn't accepted. Such a moving piece Michael. Bless Rev. Father William E. Corby and our troops now and always!

Michael Mazaika replied:

If you ever get the chance, Elizabeth, try and visit on Remembrance Weekend in Nov. I was there one year and able to attend Sat evening Msss at the Fr. Corby monument. - Mike

Awesome Capture and Find.....v

Michael Mazaika replied:

Sometimes I think (no, I know) that the God Lord sets the scene and all I have to do is show up with my camera. Then again, I'd be grateful if I got the shot or not. I'm glad you like the image, Beverly. - Mike

Jo Ann and Nick - thank you so much for featuring the Father Corby image from Gettysburg in the "Book Covers" and "Clouds - Always the Same, but Never the Same" groups. I'm also grateful for the work you do in administering these respective groups. The Good Lord provided exceptionally vivid skies in the days just prior to and during the 150th Anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg as seen here and in some of my other photographs. I'm glad you enjoyed this shot. - Mike

Marilyn, thank you very much. The sky on this day fit the scene like a glove. The Good Lord seems to work that way so very often.

Fantastic image!!

Michael Mazaika replied:

Thank you, Sandi, for your kind words. I've been fortunate to be able to come to the Gettysburg battlefield since I was a young boy, some 50 years now, and still there is something to inspire upon each visit.
