Description
Freshly painted for the annual Washington - Greene County Covered Bridge Festival, the relocated Brownlee (or former Brownlee-Scott) Covered Bridge is one of the many photogenic gems preserved in these two counties. The bridge was moved from its original location over Wheeling Creek to McGuffey Park at Claysville, in Washington County, PA in 2007. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The bridge is in excellent visual condition and open to foot traffic only. Debra and Dave, thank you for this feature in Barns Big and Small. Not only did the colors stand out, you could still smell the recently painted boards in preparation for the Washington and Greene Counties covered bridge festival. - Mike
