Description
Close-up look of a mural, painted by artist Wayne Fettro, that focuses on the automobile hand-built by W.C. Karns of Everett, PA, at the dawn of this country's automotive age. Other less visible portions of the mural colorfully illustrate some of the historical landmarks in and around Everett as it is situated along the Lincoln Highway. This wall mural is only one of several projects undertaken in the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor as it crosses Pennsylvania. The Lincoln Highway enabled travelers to drive over the first paved roadway extending across the U.S. from coast-to-coast. Through this mural, communities all along the Lincoln Highway like the folks in Everett celebrate and share a glimpse of the great part that the invention of the automobile played in their heritage.
