A quotation excerpted from President Abraham Lincoln's second inaugural address, delivered on March 4, 1865, is inscribed on one of the sides of the Eternal Peace Light Memorial at the Gettysburg National Military Park. As Lincoln concluded, in part, "... as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord, are true and righteous altogether. With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the Nation's wounds..." It yet today serves to reminder us that the Truth and Promises of Scripture are timeless whether accepted or ignored. As the Scripture admonishes in 2nd Chronicles 7:14, "If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land".
