One of a number of projects undertaken in the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor as itt crosses Pennsylvania. This mural, painted by artist Wayne Fettro, colorfully illustrates some of the historical landmarks in and around the borough of Everett, PA, along the Lincoln Highway. The Lincoln Highway enabled travelers to drive over the first paved roadway extending from coast-to-coast across the U.S. as many fell in love with the greater mobility afforded them by the automobile. Communities all along the Lincoln Highway were changed by this invention and the highway with many, like the folks in Everett, celebrating their heritage while retaining their small-town charm.
