One of the few remaining structures of this form of novelty architecture in the country, the Bedford Coffee Pot (or Koontz Coffee Pot, named after its creator, David Koontz) once served as a respite for travelers driving along the coast-to-coast Lincoln Highway as they traveled through Bedford, Pennsylvania, enabling them to refuel their automobiles, their stomachs, and their memories.
Originally built around 1927, the Coffee Pot fell into disrepair after many years of service. Now restored through private efforts and the help of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Park Corridor the structure is now located at the Bedford County Fairgrounds where visitors can still scratch that itch for nostalgia and simpler days. When I gave my life to Christ it was the fulfillment of the faithful prayers of many others on my behalf. There was no resounding...
