Artist's Description

Well worn ornamental castings on the side of a home on Mowhawk Street in the German Village, the Old South End, Columbus, Ohio. The German Village was home to a thriving and prosperous German-American immigrant population. Restoration efforts at the grass roots community level began in the early 1960's and continues to this day. The German Village Historic District has been honored as a Preserve America Community and cited on the National Register of Historic Places.
