Description
Sepia toning renders a nostalgic feel to this view of the Mabry Mill. Often touted as the most photographed spot in Virginia, one can see why. The mill, constructed by Edwin Boston Mabry, served the local area for several decades in the early 20th century as a blacksmith and wheelwrights shop, and later as a sawmill and gristmill. The mill and surrounding structures have been renovated and maintained by the National Park Service and volunteers who present these period activities for visitors stopping along the Parkway. Beautiful work! A unique perspective of this mill I haven't seen before! I'm hoping to get there this year in the fall!
Michael Mazaika replied:
It is a wonderful place to stop and visit on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I hope you can visit there in the fall as well. I was late in the season when I was able to visit, but the colors should be wonderful. Thanks, Marilyn. - Mike

Vintage Mike, well done.
Michael Mazaika replied:
Thanks, Skip. If I recall, it was starting to drizzle - a lot. And there were folks inside the mill house looking out of a window right in my line of sight. I got wet but eventually waited out the window. I’m sure you have many waiting stories, too. - Mike
