Late afternoon sun start to adds an even warmer glow to the mid-autumn colors starting to surround the Glessner Covered Bridge over the Stonycreek River on Covered Bridge Road in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Originally built around 1880, the Glessner Covered Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Thanks, William. I been privileged to visit and photograph at very many Civil War battlefields (unfortunately I was shooting slide film at the time and still have a boatload to digitize). So, I started visiting and photographing covered bridges (another long-term project if my mobility holds out) many of which I grew up around in PA. I hope you enjoy that on-going series too. - Mike
