The Blue Ridge Mountains boast spectacular hues in autumn but areas can also quickly lose their color depending on elevation and other weather conditions. Such is the case of this mid-autumn scene at the Mabry Mill located in Floyd County, Milepost 176 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mabry Mill is often touted as the most photographed spot in Virginia and one can see why. The mill, constructed by Edwin Boston Mabry, served the local area for several decades in the early 20th century as a blacksmith and wheelwrights shop, and later as a sawmill and gristmill. The mill and surrounding structures have been renovated and maintained by the National Park Service and volunteers who present these period activities for visitors stopping along the Parkway. When I gave my life to Christ it was the fulfillment of the faithful prayers of many others on my behalf. There was no resounding...
