View easterly across a frozen and snow-covered Marsh Creek towards the Sach’s Covered Bridge in the late-afternoon winter sun. This bridge was used by Union and Confederate troops prior to the Battle of Gettysburg and by Confederate forces during their retreat back to Virginia following the battle. I rarely visit Gettysburg or Antietam in the snow - they need a good rest too (like the folks at St. Andrews do on Sundays), but I’m glad that I did so after this snowfall.
