Description
Ornate craftsmanship in wood, outside and in, seems almost an understatement. The Montgomery Mansion (also fondly referred to as the Gingerbread House by many local folks) is one of the most photographed spots in western Pennsylvania. Originally built in the late 1800's, the home, although revitalized several times over the years, remains a testament to the vision, detail, and workmanship of its builder, Robert Porter. The Montgomery Mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and has been designated an historic residential landmark/farmstead by the Washington County History and Landmarks Foundation.
