With large areas of shadow still lingering, mid-morning autumn light illuminates this southwesterly view towards the Witherspoon (also known as the Red or Anderson Road) Covered Bridge over Licking Creek leading into the West Branch of the Conococheague Creek. The Witherspoon covered bridge was originally built in 1883. A marking on the side of the portal (lower far right) about one-third of the way up indicates the elevation of the floodwater line due to Hurricane Agnes in June 1972. Love that autumn light. It's started again in the mid-Atlantic. I'm grateful, Rosalie, for your encouragement and support. - Mike
