Description
The Knox Covered Bridge (also known as General Knox Covered Bridge, Valley Forge Park Bridge, and Valley Forge Dam Bridge) was originally built in 1851, reconstructed again in 1865 due to flooding, rebuilt yet again in 1965 after being damaged by fire, and most recently refurbished in 2012. There is debate over who the bridge is named for General Henry Knox who made camp at Valley Forge or PA State Senator Philander C. Knox. Michael Mazaika replied:
Thank you, folks. I'm grateful for your featuring this image in Barns Big and Small. A number of covered bridges are, in fact, today used for storage of farm-related equipment and supplies. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and New Year's holiday season. - Mike
