Description
View northwesterly towards the Keller's Mill Covered Bridge over Cocalico Creek in Lancaster County, PA. With the setting sun, a gray veil begins to be cast over the sideboards of the only whitewashed covered bridge in the county. Originally built in 1873 and reconstructed in 1891 due to flooding, the bridge was disassembled near Rettew's Mill and relocated to the present site on Middle Creek Road, re-opening in 2010. The Keller's Mill (also known as Guy Bard's or Rettew's Mill Covered Bridge) was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. I just made it to this spot as the sun was setting in the west. What a treat that was. Thanks, Lori. - Mike

Great shot, Michael. Feels like I'm on the road. LF
Michael Mazaika replied:
Thanks, Theresa. Fortunately the roads that most of these covered bridges are located on get little traffic although I do need to keep my ears and eyes pealed. I hope you enjoy this ongoing series. - Mike
