Description
View northeasterly towards the Himmel's Church (also known as the Rebuck or Himmel's) Covered Bridge over Schwaben Creek in Northumberland County, PA. Affectionately nicknamed the Candy-Striper Covered Bridge by the photographer for its alternating white battens over the bridge's traditional red-painted frame reminiscent of the uniforms often donned by hospital volunteers. Originally built in 1874, the Himmel's Church (Rebuck) Covered Bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. This is fantastic! I’ve not yet been to this bridge… nicely photographed! I am very pleased to feature your lovely artwork in the group ‘Covered Bridges and Historical Buildings.’ Please add it to the “2023 First Quarter Featured Image Collection” thread in the discussions area to record and display your image amongst the best in the group. Thank you! 2/1/23
