Description
Alternating cold and warm periods in late winter 2014 brought about a pink hue to the branches of apple trees, further accentuated by the late-day winter light. These well dressed apple trees appear to be uniformly up in arms over a lone, somewhat disheveled looking, pine tree that stands out against the status quo. Motivation to be different, just as you are. Scene along MD Route 140 between Westminster and Taneytown, Carroll County, Maryland Image = MD Country Roads - Apple Trees Winter 020814 021-025 E-P N C1 FT BP-10 PSP I-Rz A-Ssm2.jpg.

Michael Mazaika replied:
The lone little pine tree is what first caught my eye, but then the long wave of red in a season many folks think lacks color. Thank you, Antonis, for visiting my portfolio. - Mike

Beautiful work, Mike! Excellent use of color! LVF
Michael Mazaika replied:
It's warm in the Mid-Atlantic so far this year (but then it's early), but I sometimes drive by an orchard on my commute and already see a similar color to some of the fruit trees, just without the blanket of snow. It was a neat find that winter. - Mike

Beautiful and stunning scenery! I just love the color of those trees!
Michael Mazaika replied:
Thank you, Lucia. I'm glad that I turned around and took the time to go back and have a second look. It had been a long, cold day of shooting at the nearby Gettysburg battlefield. I'm still learning the lessons of the value of second looks. - Mike

Love the apple trees. Mike do you ever to shows?
Michael Mazaika replied:
Hello, Grace. The unexpected color on the apple trees against the snow is, in fact, what caught my eye on the way back from the Gettysburg battlefield thru Taneytown (and this time I had my camera along). I haven't thought much about doing shows simply because I haven't had enough time to do it justice. But, thanks for asking. - Mike
