Description
Mount Olivet Cemetery was established and received its first interment in 1854. It is the final resting place for many of Frederick's and several state and national figures in our Nation's history - among them Francis Scott Key (author of the Star Spangled Banner, Thomas Johnson (first elected Governor of Maryland), and Dame Barbara Fritchie (of fame by John Greeleaf Whittier's poem). On its grounds lie those who served in our Country's battles from the Revolutionary War through today's conflicts, as well as families and folks who in leading their regular daily lives make up the true fabric of the United States of America. The cemetery lies within the bounds of the Frederick Historic District. Image = MD Frederick - Mt Olivet Key Mem Chapel No. 6 111017 111-115 E-D S C1 PSP.jpg.

The stones, leafy trees, and sky patches make a lace-like design that is most pleasing. Favorite! I made a Pinterest pin of it, too. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/96334879514796631/
