Description
View northerly of the Loux Covered Bridge over Cabin Run Creek at Wismer and Carversville Road, Bucks County, PA. Originally built in 1874, the Loux Covered Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This bridge is the only covered bridge in Bucks County that is painted white. The sepia rendering adds a nostalgic feel to this image. Image = PA Covered Bridges Bucks Loux-2AS 110715-110815 246-250 E-D S C1 PSP EPETM-B9 AShSm.jpg.

Excellent capture Michael! And thank you for the description ~ I did not know that it is the only white covered bridge in Bucks County. I do know that quite a few are that dark, rich red which looks great with freshly fallen snow... ~Anne
Michael Mazaika replied:
Thanks, Anne. The red sides are characteristic of most of the covered bridges in Lancaster County, PA, and many others throughout Central Pennsylvania. I hope you enjoy this ongoing series. - Mike
