Description
View southerly towards the entry portal of the Witherspoon (also known as the Red or Anderson Road) Covered Bridge over Licking Creek leading into the West Branch of the Conococheague Creek. The Witherspoon covered bridge was originally built in 1883. In this view, the marking on the right side of the entry portal about one-third of the way up indicates the elevation of the floodwater line due to Hurricane Agnes in June 1972.
