Description
Mid-day, early autumn sunlight illuminates this view northerly towards the St. Mary's Covered Bridge; a partial view of its namesake, Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, is seen across the road. The Saint Mary's (also known as Shade Gap) Covered Bridge over Shade Creek was built in 1896 and rehabilitated several time since in the last half of the 20th century. It is the only remaining covered bridge in Huntingdon County and was posted on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Beautiful capture. Love the bright colors and composition. L/F
Michael Mazaika replied:
Thank you, Karen. Besides St. Mary's covered bridge, what caught my eye in this view was the alternating light and shadow of the wooden guard rail leading to the bridge portal. I'm grateful for your kind thoughts and support. - Mike

Very lovely capture !
Michael Mazaika replied:
Thank you, Geraldine. Even though I was a week or so early for autumn colors, the sun and bridge color was still enjoyable. I'm glad that you liked this scene. - Mike
