Description
View northeasterly across the tracks of the former Catawissa Railroad towards the adjacent Rupert Covered Bridge (also known as the Rupert Bridge) which crosses Fishing Creek. Originally built in 1847, with significant renovation in 2000, it is the oldest covered bridge remaining in Columbia County. The Rupert Covered Bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The bridge is in excellent visual and structural condition; greying of the vertical sideboards is due to processing for an alternate rendering.
